On Tuesday, April 13th I attended the Poets & Passion event hosted by Caribbean Cultural Theatre and chaired by Anton Nimblet. Our presenters Charmaine Hamilton-Valere and Geoffrey Philp, two author/bloggers. The evening was filled with anecdotes of Caribbean life and experiences as writers and bloggers.

Philp was especially comfortable in his domain as he so candidly shared with the audience, the importance of preserving our Caribbean language and literature, and those who create such fine literary works. He spoke passionately from Kamau Brathwaite and Derek Walcot to Bob Marley and new writers like me and others in attendance.   Charmaine Hamilton-Valere read a very powerful poem about blogging and shared her experience as a writer of Guyanese literature.

I had the good fortune of reading a movement from my book Olympic Gardens.
